Ryby Zubowicz (Kamień Pomorski)

Kamień Pomorski

Our tip: Fresh fish prepared to traditional recipes – much of it straight from the region.

Ryby Zubowicz is a fish restaurant at ul. Wilków Morskich 3/2 in Kamień Pomorski, a few steps from the water. Not your ordinary fish shack on the beach: the Zubowicz family has been catching, smoking and processing fish for years, and here you eat what comes from their kitchen and their small shop.

What you eat here

The menu features mainly cod, zander, trout, herring and salmon, plus shrimp – some of it from their own catch, the smoked fish from their own smokehouse.

The signature dish is cured salmon – raw salmon with herbs, spices and garlic, matured for a long time to their own recipe. You can have it on its own and in other dishes. They also make pierogi with cod and with salmon on site. Cod and zander come pan-fried in beer batter.

Guests come back for:

  • fish pierogi and chowder
  • baguette with cured salmon
  • the fish burger
  • herring and fish spreads
  • kids' dishes (breaded cod, pasta)

Next to the restaurant there's a small shop with preserves – smoked fish, cured fish, spreads, herring. A jar for the apartment is worth it.

Where you sit

You can eat inside, under the covered pavilion, at tables outdoors or on the upper terrace. The terrace is the summer extension of the kitchen: the same menu, more light and sunsets over the lagoon. Reserving is free – you choose the area, the exact table depends on the day. If you're sitting outside and the weather turns bad, they'll move you under cover if they can.

Reservations: rybyzubowicz.pl or phone 513 231 013.

Opening hours

The restaurant is open all year, and cards are accepted. Opening hours change with the season – it's best to take a quick look at Google Maps before you go. With a larger group it's better to call ahead – it gets busy in season.

Practical info

Address: ul. Wilków Morskich 3/2, 72-400 Kamień Pomorski. A place for a relaxed lunch or dinner by the water, not for a quick cutlet from a kiosk. Prices are above those of a simple fried-fish shop – you pay for the fish and for their own processing, not for a portion with fries to take away.
