Żelek bakery-pastry shop at Wolińska 21 is a local workshop, not a mall chain. Wiesław Żelek has baked here since March 1995. Bread and cakes from Kamień then travel across the county and beyond — to Świnoujście, Międzyzdroje, Wolin, even Szczecin and Kołobrzeg. Production sits in Kamień and in Golczewo; the head office and the shop you walk into are here.
What you'll buy
It's a bakery and a pastry shop in one. Onto the shelves go bread straight from the oven and the day's sweets. On the site and on Facebook you'll see, among others:
- country loaf, goat-milk bread, carrot bread, apple bread, buckwheat-groat bread, millet roll
- apple tart, mascarpone cake
- cakes of the day: yoghurt, honey cake, rhubarb, blueberry, chocolate, napoleons, puchatki, muffins, bundt cakes
The range changes with the day and the season — morning is fresh, by afternoon what's left is what didn't sell. For holidays and weddings they also bake celebration cakes.
When to come
This is a morning bakery. Catalogues agree that on Sunday it is often closed, and on weekdays they open early. Closing time jumps between sources (16:00 or 17:00), so we don't put a clock in. Most reliable phone: 91 382 31 00, zelek.com.pl.
If you want warm bread for breakfast in the apartment — drop in in the morning, not after lunch.
Practical
Address: ul. Wolińska 21, 72-400 Kamień Pomorski. That's the outbound road, not the market square — you come for rolls by car or bike.
