Pod Wodnikiem Tavern (Niechorze)

Niechorze

Our tip: Right by the sea: fish soups, pizza from the oven, grilled fish and Mediterranean cuisine.

Tawerna pod Wodnikiem is at Parkowa 12, in the quieter part of Niechorze close to the sea – nearer to the beach and the cliff than to the bustle of Bursztynowa. On the ground floor of the guesthouse there's a restaurant open all year. In summer it is joined by a seasonal fried-fish counter with fish straight from the fishing boat. Website: tawernapodwodnikiem.pl.

Not a milk bar and not just a fried-fish shop: the interior is maritime, you're served at the table and you can have lunch or dinner in peace.

What's on the menu

Fish straight from the fishing boat (cod, salmon, flounder, redfish, sprats, mackerel and others), seafood, Wodnik soup (Zupa Wodnika), "Uczta Neptuna" (Neptune's feast) and tsar-style fish served in the pan. Plus classics: fillet steak on a hot stone, ribs, salads, pasta, dishes for kids and vegetarians, ice cream and cake.

In season they bake pizza in the oven – a good dozen kinds. Guests also praise the pierogi, the potato pancakes with goulash and the pork cutlet with fries. With the Karta Rewal (the municipality's guest card) you get a discount.

There are high chairs, and you can get in with a stroller. Here a family with children doesn't have to look for a separate "fast-food corner".

Practical info

The tavern is open all year. Opening hours change with the season – it's best to take a quick look at Google Maps or the website before you go.

For quick fish on the go, Kergulena and U Cywila on Mazowiecka are the better choice. Pod Wodnikiem is for a leisurely meal at the table – and it's open in October or March too.
