The "Rex" bakery and patisserie at ul. Adama Mickiewicza 32 is a local bakery with its own bakehouse, running since 1988. Many locals buy their bread here – and it is the easiest address when you need fresh bread or rolls for breakfast in the apartment.
What you can buy
A bakery and a pastry shop in one. On offer, among other things:
- bread, packaged and loose
- rolls and rogale, the Polish croissant-style rolls
- sweet yeast buns (drożdżówki) and pączki, Polish doughnuts
- cakes and biscuits
- cakes to order, wedding cakes included
Everything is sold in the shop right at the bakehouse.
When to go
Go in the morning: the bakery opens early, and the choice is widest first thing – by the afternoon it gets much smaller. In high season there is often a queue in the morning.
