Velo Baltica cycle route (Rewal)

Rewal

The Velo Baltica, the Polish section of the EuroVelo 10 route around the Baltic Sea (also known as R10), crosses the whole Rewal commune. It follows the coast from Pobierowo through Pustkowo, Trzęsacz, Rewal and Niechorze to Pogorzelica, and continues west to Dziwnów and east to Mrzeżyno. The route is signposted and suitable for beginners too.

What the riding is like

  • Within the commune it is about 22 km, roughly two thirds of it on asphalt.
  • Between the villages you mostly ride a separate asphalt cycle path, e.g. Rewal–Niechorze and Niechorze–Pogorzelica.
  • In the villages it uses quiet streets, in central Rewal a short stretch of the ul. Klifowa promenade – ride slowly there.
  • West of Pobierowo and beyond Pogorzelica towards Mrzeżyno it turns into gravel roads through the forest.

What you pass

  • the church ruins in Trzęsacz, about 150 m off the route,
  • the Niechorze lighthouse, also about 150 m away,
  • Lake Liwia Łuża, a nature reserve whose shore the cycle path from Niechorze to Pogorzelica follows.

When to go

The route is open all year. The narrow-gauge railway (stops include Trzęsacz, Rewal, Śliwin, Niechorze and Pogorzelica) carries bikes in a dedicated wagon, so one direction can be done by train – timetable: kolej.rewal.pl.

Practical

  • A good starting point in Rewal: the eastern end of ul. Klifowa, where the cycle path to Niechorze begins; the lighthouse is about 2 km away as the crow flies.
  • Bike rentals are listed on the commune's website: rewal.pl.
  • Map of the whole route and current disruptions: rowery.wzp.pl.
